TANROADS Simiyu,
Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is an Executive Agency under the Ministry of Works Transport and Communication, established uncter
section 3 0) of the Executive Agencies Act (Cap 245) and came into operation in July. 2000. The Agency is responsible for the Maintenance
and development of the trunk and Regional road network in Tanzania.
As a measure to strengthen capacity of discharging TANROADS’ functions in conducting Axle load control/operation, the Regional Manager’s
Office TANROADS Simiyu on behalf of the Chief Executive, intends to recruit qualified and competent Tanzanian Citizens to fill the vacancies
at its office.
WEIGHBRIDGE CASHIER (2 POSTS)
Key qualifications for weighbridge Cashier;
Age Limit; Between 25 to 35 years of age
Education qualification: Diploma in accountancy or holders of Accounts Technician Certificate II (ATEC II) issued by (N8AA)or equivalent from recognized Institutions.
Must be Computer Literate: (at least advanced Certificate in
computer applications).
Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English languages.
Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that all necessary accounting forms at the weighbridge station are property filled, kept and all weighbridge information is accounted for.
Take care of weighbridge accountable document
Co-operate with the relevant parties involved in the axle control operations.
Ensure that all receipts are timely recorded.
Maintain accurate records of receipts recerved/ssued.
Maintain defaulters register.
Observe good customer care dignity and integrity
Report all matter to the Shift in – Charge/Axle Load Control supervisor.
Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by Head of Accounts and Administration/ Regional Manager.
WEIGHBRIDGE OPERATORS (S POSTS)
Key qualifications for weighbridge Cashier;
Age Limit; Between 25 to 35 years of age
Education qualification: Diploma in accountancy or holders of Accounts Technician Certificate II (ATEC II) issued by (N8AA)or equivalent from recognized Institutions.
Must be Computer Literate: (at least advanced Certificate in
computer applications).
Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English languages.
Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.
Duties and Responsibilities;
Enforcement of Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of
Weighbridge scale devices.
Carrying out activities as described in the Road Traffic ( Maximum
Weight of Vehicle) Regulation 2001.The activities include the following;
Weigh Motor Vehicles of Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) ≥ 3500Kg aplying
on our Public Roads.
If the vehicle is found overloaded the operator should impose road
damage fee on the spot.
Measure physical dimensions of motor vehicle of any load being
carried on the motor vehicle and incase of non – compliance with
vehicle dimension limits, the transporter should be caused to
present for a special permit.
For trucks carrying abnormal load with special permit, the
weighbridge operator shall ascertain compliance to the permit. Any
discrepancy should be reported to the weighbridge in charge for
appropriate actions.
Record all necessary particulars regarding the motor vehicle being
weighed.
Observe good customer care dignity and integrity
Report all matter to the Shift in – Charge.
Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by Shift in
Charge/Regional Manager.
POSITION TITLE: SHIFT INCHARGE – (2 POSTS)
Key qualification for Shift in Charge;
-Age Limit; between 35 to 40 years of age.
Education qualifications – Holder of First degree in any profession.
Must be Computer Literate {At least Advanced Certificate in Computer
Application)
Must be Tanzanian Citizen.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Enforcement of Road Traffic axle Load Control by the use of
Weighbridge scale devices.
Overall supervision of the shift activities.
Imposing road damage fees on the spot for overloaded vehicles.
Measuring physical dimension of Motor Vehicle or any load being
carried on the Motor Vehicle and cause to seek a special permit to
transporters in case of noncompliance with vehicle dimensions limit.
Ascertain compliance to the abnormal load permit and report any
discrepancy to the Axle Load Control Supervisor for the appropriate
action.
Record all necessary particulars regarding the motor vehicle being
weighed.
Observe good customer care, dignity and integrity.
Reporting all matters to the Axle Load Control Supervisor.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by

DRIVER II (1 POST)
Education/Professionai Qualifications;
-Age limit; Between 25 to 35 years of age.
Educational qualification: Holders of Certificate of Secondary
Education who passed English and Kiswahili.
Must be hold Basic Driving Course offered by VETA, NIT or any other
recognized institution
Must be have genuine and a valid driving licence Class C
Work Experience: At least 2 (two) years in related field in
reputable organization
Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English languages.
Must have a clean track record.
Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.
Duties and Responsibility;
-Drive Agency motor vehicles.
Maintains the vehicle logbook
Check and report the maintenance requirements.
U ndertake motor vehicle services.
Maintain safety and cleanliness of the motor vehicle.
Delivers and collects mail and goods etc.
Performs other related duties as may be assigned from time to time
by Supervisor.
Terms and Conditions of Service
Appointment will be on contract Term of two year renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
SCOPE OF position:
Successful applicants must be ready to work on all working days and sometimes during Weekends and Public Holidays They should be willing to work for considerable lengths of time when required under minimum supervision
