II. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Migration Health Nurse, and overall supervision of the Chief Medical Officer in coordination with of the Head of Migration Health Assessment Centre, the incumbent will be responsible for: –

Assist in organizing and conducting the surveillance, quarantine, observation, health assessments, vital signs measurements, fi tot travel check, treatment and stabilization of serious medical cases activities.
Assistance to the National Migration Health Physicians during examination by following prescriptions and recommendations given by the doctors.
Maintenance and confidentiality of information, collaborative relationship with clients, partners and health professionals.
Participation out of duty station and medical escorting of migrants traveling under auspices of IOM when assigned by the Head of MHAC.
Authenticates the identity of refugee/migrant, as maybe requested, prior to clinical or radiology examinations.
Assist in coordinating specific duties and smooth running of all daily nursing activities in specific unit (XRAY/TC/OBS/Vaccination).
Participate in unit meetings regularly, and also t in other relevant meetings as assigned. .
Monitor strict compliance with established SOP’s in the assigned unit.
Coordinate with other relevant units like counselling, customer care, data pro for time efficient and high-quality service provision to migrants.
Report any loss, malfunction of all items/equipment/ assets allocated to the unit.
Inform the Doctor in charge of evident infectious diseases and administer preventive action as soon as possible. To include surveillance and isolation of affected cases.
Assist in organizing and monitoring stock inventory level and expiry dates of medical supplies, vaccines, equipment and drugs as well as replenishment in timely manner. Update the stock database regularly.
Follow up patients and inform Doctor in pre-departure on progress of hospital referrals including camp cases.
Prepares a report on therapeutic procedures administered to migrants, in accordance with the requirements of resettlement countries.
Perform pre-departure assessment and administer treatment as necessary. prepare predeparture treatment certificates and send to Operations.
Prepare pre-departure summaries if required and forward same in a timely manner to PSAU for billing purposes.
Provide First Aid to cases at transit centres, dispense treatment as prescribed by Doctors at transit centres and refer patients for admission with the Doctor’s authorization.
Provide health education to individual patients and groups of refugees at transit center. Carry out routine check-ups of the transit center for general and individual hygiene.
Update the Migration Health Physician in charge of pre-departure on condition of the clinic, its equipment and its monthly needs.
Prepare weekly medical reports of ABNs and statistics under the supervision of the predeparture Doctor.
Perform any other related task as requested by supervisor.

V. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and registration with the Nursing Council of Tanzania as a Registered Nurse.
Three years in handling and following up medical documents as a senior Staff.
Work experience in an international organization is an advantage.
Working knowledge of Mimosa and other medical database systems an advantage
Training and experience in TB, STDs, HIV/AIDS counselling and other communicable diseases is an asset.
Proficiency in computer skills, especially in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access) and experience in working with databases and online applications.

Required
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili Languages

II. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE
Context:
Under the direct supervision of Migration Health Officer and secondary supervision of Chief Migration Health Nurse and overall supervision of Chief Migration Health Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in performing required routine clinical tasks/procedures in connection with the health assessment and treatment to ensure that identified refugees and migrants are medically fit to migrate in accordance with the medical/health requirements of the receiving countries.
III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assist in taking and recording medical history, performing anthropometrics and vital
signs measurements, and help in visual acuity measurements.
Assist the Chief Nurse in compiling medical records, files, charts, X-ray films, already decoded laboratory results prior to physical examination for doctor’s use.
Authenticate the identity of refugee, as maybe requested, prior to clinical
examinations.
Assists the National Medical Officer and Chief Nurse during actual physical examinations.
Assist the National Medical Officer and Chief Nurse in pre-departure medical procedures, pre-embarkation check-ups, administration of chemoprophylaxis for parasites, medical surveillance in the IOM Transit Center
Assist the medical officer or nurse in administering vaccines, treatment – previously measured doses and prescriptions ordered by the National Medical Officer.
Prepare, install or sterilize medical equipment needed for medical examination.
Request and re-stocks required medical supplies and drugs and medicines.
Monitor and report expiration dates of drugs and medicines and refers to Chief Nurse for disposal.
Maintain and safe-keep medical kits used by medical escorts and staff on duty mission.
Assist the medical officer or nurse in performing pre-departure medical checks and distributing doses to travelling refugees/migrants.
Prepare a report on therapeutic procedures administered to migrants, in accordance with the requirements of resettlement countries.
Participate in field missions in out of duty stations and acts as nurse escort of medical cases.
Maintain confidentiality of information and collaborative relationship with clients, partners and health professionals.
Perform other duties as may be required by Supervisor.
