A teacher who admitted having sex almost every day with a 13-year-old schoolboy who got her pregnant has been jailed.
According to Metro UK, Alexandria Vera, 24, claimed his family were excited and supported her when she got pregnant for her pupil last January.However, she got nervous and terminated the pregnancy after child protection officers went to her school to question her, she said.
The report says she had been sleeping with the pupil since September 2015.
Vera told investigators their relationship turned sexual for nine months after they spent more time together.
State District Judge Michael McSpadden who said he did not believe Vera was a danger to other children, and was not a classic pedophile, admitted he needed to make an example of her to send a message to the community.
He said, “We want out educators to teach our students, we want them ther hands off the students.”
Vera could have faced 30 years, but received less time after admitting a lesser charging
