- A 60-year-old man from Nepal has a tumor that grew to be the same weight as a toddler

- Over the years he was told by dozens of doctors that the tumour couldn’t be removed

- Now he is Almost fully recovered after a seven hour operation to remove his tumor and said he had “reborn” after the procedure

Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, 60, says he has been 'reborn' after having a facial tumor that grew to be the same weight as a TODDLER removed from his face.

The heavy growth that affected Bhattarai since the age of 12 also became very smelly due to friction causing infections.

The condition suffered by the man from Taplejung, in eastern Nepal, is Neurofibromatosis - a syndrome where tumors grow along the nerves

Over the years he was told by dozens of doctors that the tumour couldn’t be removed but then Dr Jaswan Shakya, from Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital in Kathmandu came along and said he could operate on it.

Dr Shakya said: “I have seen many patients with small tumors covering the face but never one as big as this. I was really shocked to see him at first. I’ve done these surgeries for many years but this is the biggest tumour I’d ever seen in Nepal.”

Almost fully recovered after a seven hour operation, he said: “It’s like a rebirth for me. I used to hate looking at myself in the mirror and nobody in my village talked to me but now life is very different.”
